5th Grade Band
CONCERT INFORMATION
Tues., Dec. 7 at 7:00 pm - 5/6 winter band concert
Students arrive no later than 6:30 pm and should wear TBA pants and the Band T-shirt.
The concert will last about an hour.
All students are expected to remain for the entire concert. Please make arrangements to accomodate this.
Practice
Continue to encourage your child to practice about 100 minutes each week. The only way individuals will improve is by regular and consistent practice. 20 minutes each day, 5 days each week should be enough for most students. Some may need more than this to learn the lesson book assignments and the band music.
Practice Tips
* Practice in a quiet play where you will not be easily distracted.
* Practice the same time every day so it becomes habit.
* Practice your hardest songs first and your easiest songs last. (you make more progress and get more done at the beginning of your practice session)
* Always end your practice with something you know you can play well. It helps to want to come back to practice the next day.
* Record yourself practicing and listen to yourself. You will hear more mistakes on a recording than you do while playing live. Then go back and try to fix the mistakes.
