Winter is just upon us and that means one thing to choirs: singing, caroling, more singing and several concerts!
On Nov. 17th several students volunteered to sing for the La Crosse Center Holiday Craft Fair. Each year we're invited to have a group sing some holiday favorites for the shoppers AND the vendors love us, too!
On Dec. 3rd the Concert Choir will participate in the WXOW Holiday Concert at Viterbo University. This will be our 15th consecutive year of performance. Admission is a non-perishable food item for local food pantries, so singing for a good cause is very rewarding.
On Dec. 17th the HS Choral Dept. will present our annual Winter Concert. Along with the Lancer and Concert Choirs, we will be debut this year's Women's Ensemble and our men' Barbershoppers. Both groups have put in countless hours to prepare for this before and after school so we hope for a big crowd to perform for.
Last, but not least - just a reminder about this year's Solo/Ensemble Festival on Saturday, Feb. 16th. It seems like only a year ago that we were hosting this event, but alas, 3 years have passed and it's once again our turn for hosting!! We need tons of volunteers who enjoy listening to HS musicians! The Choral Department truly appreciates the support and encouragement from the parents of the wonderfully talented students as well as the communities of Hokah, La Crescent and surrounding areas.
